Leanne was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from The American University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and taught for the Indianapolis Public Schools for seven years. While teaching, she obtained her Master's in Education from Indiana University. In 2003 Leanne graduated from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis.
Her legal practice focuses mainly on criminal defense and family law. She has represented clients in various criminal courts ranging from misdemeanor to major felony charges.
Leanne is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana.
