CBS WTTV reports today that Marion County will no longer pursue charges for simple possession of marijuana.

This is big news for Marion County and Indianapolis. It means that nearly 400 cases of simple possession won’t be pursued by the county.

The policy is the first in the state to be enacted and may have implications for expungement of criminal charges. In fact – it’s possible that expungements may be available early to those convicted of simple possession in the past.
