ROCK FOR RILEY Rock for Riley is a student-run philanthropy group that consists of many IU medical professional schools in Indianapolis. It is a group that is run entirely by students with all proceeds benefitting Riley Hospital for Children. Several Indiana University medical students founded Rock for Riley in 2004 and organized our first show featuring Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at the Vogue Theatre. The first show raised nearly $25,000 for Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. Since then, we have had bands such as Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s, and The Avett brothers play and have raised over $800,000 for the hospital.  During the winter of 2014, the medical school joined with the many other medical professionals of IU to form a large, cohesive group with one goal: to raise more funds than we have ever raised before, increasing awareness for not only Riley Hospital itself, but the NICU specifically. Rock for Riley 2015 is gearing up to be an extremely high-energy event featuring The Main Squeeze!

Seamlessly blending Funk, Soul, and Rock n’ Roll, The Main Squeeze promises to keep your body moving with their infectious feel-good musical gumbo. The energetic five-piece found its roots in Bloomington Indiana’s surprisingly vibrant live music scene, and they have been leaving audiences “Freshly Squozen” since 2010.With his silky smooth voice, Corey Frye is backed by Max Newman on guitar, Ben “Smiley” Silverstein on keys, Reuben Gingrich on drums and Jeremiah Hunt on bass. Their ability to fluidly blend and bend genres is unparalleled, and creates for an unforgettable live experience. In addition, they put their stamp on the Rolling Stone Super Bowl XLVI Pre-Party and dazzled music lovers at the International Battle of the Bands in Macau. Having shared the stage with artists like The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, The Meters, Aloe Blacc and Trombone Shorty, The Main Squeeze continues to catch the ear of industry giants. Now based in Chicago, The Main Squeeze is working with legendary producer, Randy Jackson, to put the finishing touches on their sophomore album.
